Clinicians decide
The system displays and prompts. It never diagnoses, grades a wound or chooses a treatment on its own.
Wound IQ is built so that the safe behaviour is the default behaviour: clinicians decide, patients control their data, and nothing is hidden from the record.
The system displays and prompts. It never diagnoses, grades a wound or chooses a treatment on its own.
You say what your information may be used for — your care, running the service, anonymised evidence — and can change your mind at any time.
Who you are and what your wound record contains are held separately. Measurement devices never receive your identity.
Every treatment option carries its evidence status, including when it is only available under study. The pathway itself is signed off by a clinician before use.
Guidance, not invention. The clinical pathway is derived from published international guidance on the diabetic foot, with local guidance added where you are treated. It is described as based on that guidance and signed off by a named clinician, never as the guidance itself.
Thresholds are set by clinicians. What counts as a concerning wound or a stalled trend is a setting in the pathway, set by the clinical lead before any patient is seen and versioned whenever it changes.
Automated indications are preliminary. Any flag raised by a measurement device or by the system is marked as such until a clinician confirms it.
Everything is on the record. Every prompt, view and decision is written to a tamper-evident audit ledger.
Evidence is anonymised. With your consent, your outcome joins an anonymised evidence set with no route back to you; small numbers are suppressed, and data is never pooled across clinics unless they choose it.
Regulation. Wound IQ is designed as clinical decision support in which the clinician makes the decision. The regulatory status of the software and of any device or treatment used within the pathway is confirmed for each territory before patients are seen.
